Applicability
- This Airworthiness Directive (AD) applies to all Embraer ERJ 190 airplane models equipped with firewall hydraulic shutoff valve (FWSOV) part number (P/N) 975287-3 or 975287-5.
-
Model Number
- ERJ-190-100

-
Original AD Number
- 2007-02-02R2(BRAZIL)
-
Effective Date
- 2009/07/17

Subject
- Periodic operational check of the FWSOV, made during routine maintenance, has revealed that the failure rate of that component is significantly higher than expected. Such a dormant failure, when combined with further possible failures, such as engine fire, may lead to an unacceptable reduction of safety margins.
Since this condition affects flight safety, a corrective action is required. Thus, sufficient reason exists to request compliance with this AD in the indicated time limit.

Reference Publications (Revision/ATA/SB)
- This AD cancels and supersedes the AD No. 2007-02-02R1 – Amdt 39-1197, dated 27 Aug. 2007, and is being issued to remove the requirement to install the same FWSOV P/N in case of failure.
