History of Airport
The origin of airport is an airfield of military airdrop. The new construction plan of airport was approved at December of 1997 by Council For Economic Planning and
Development, which requested Ministry Of Transportation and Communications to
Supervise Civil Aeronautics Administration to work out under the principles of safety, economy and practicality. National Expressway Engineering Bureau was appointed to construct the new airport , and the construction was started at July 7 1998 and complete at December 0f 2002. The total construction fee of the airport is 2.2 billion NT$, and the airport’s business running is initialed at JANUARY 23,2003.
Location
Matsu Nangan Airport is located at Fushing Village , which is at east side of Nangan
Island, and the total area of the airport is 34 hectares. The east,south and north sides of airport are near coasts, and there is a two lanes road connecting the airport with roundisland road network, by which the Lienchiang Country Government, Fuao Port,
Matsu Port and etc. can be jointed.

l Apron Area: For fixed-wings aircraft 150m(L) x 84m(W) three aircrafts can be parked at same time ; For helicopter 60m (L) x 30m(W) one can be parked.
l One Helicopter Maintenance Hanger
l Terminal Building: Total Floor Area of Terminal is 46,000sq.m.
l Free Parking Lot: 2 free parking areas with a total capacity for 94 vehicles,14 buses and 88 motorcycles
l One 3000 gallon foam fire engine equipped in accordance with CAT5
